1.1 If you run the game on Steam or WeGame:

Please try selecting the “Black Myth: Wukong (Compatibility Mode)” in the launch options to start the game.

Note: Compatibility mode will force vertical sync on, which may cause a decrease in frame rate. If your game can launch normally, do not select this option.

1.2 If you run the game on Epic Games Store, please follow these steps:

  • Click the options button (displayed as three dots) next to the name “Black Myth: Wukong” in your game library.

  • Select “Manage”, find “Launch Options” and enable it, then enter: -saferender.

  • Close the pop-up window and relaunch the game.

Some players have reported that certain 13th/14th generation Intel CPUs might have stability issues that could cause “Out of video memory” errors during shader compilation. Here are two methods you can try to resolve this:

  • Underclock your CPU: Check for advice from Intel or your motherboard manufacturer regarding stability issues. You may need to underclock your CPU. (Click here to get the official tool.)

  • Skip shader compilation: You can also choose to skip shader compilation, but without underclocking, we can’t guarantee the game will run smoothly. Devices that crash during shader compilation might also randomly crash while playing the game.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series supports DLSS Frame Generation technology, which can significantly improve the frame rate of games when enabled. However, if you’re running Windows 10, DLSS Frame Generation won’t be enabled by default. Here’s how to enable it:

(1) In Windows, go to Settings -> System -> Display -> Graphics.

(2) Enable “Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling” and restart your computer.

(3) Re-launch the game, and you should be ready to enable DLSS Frame Generation and enjoy optimal performance.

If the issue persists, we recommend updating your drivers and Windows to the latest version. DLSS Frame Generation requires the latest graphics card drivers.

To make DLSS Frame Generation work effectively, you need to enable the vertical sync feature in the Nvidia Control Panel.

Additionally, the development team found that some screen recording software might cause issues with DLSS Frame Generation, such as sudden drops to 30 FPS or the appearance of unexpected previous frames. If you encounter these issues, check if any screen recording software is enabled and disable it if necessary.

Most of the time, choosing “Apply Recommended Graphics Settings” in the Graphics Settings (Settings -> Graphics) should give you a good balance of performance and quality. However, if you’re still having issues, try these steps until things improve:

  • Ensure that the game is installed on an SSD. While it is possible to run it from an HHD or a hard drive, doing so is not recommended as it will significantly reduce performance.
  • Install the latest graphics card drivers.
  • In most cases, enabling the frame generation feature (Settings -> Graphics) can significantly improve the frame rate. However, on some lower-end graphics cards or high-resolution screens, it may reduce the frame rate instead.
  • Adjust your graphic settings, particularly those with a significant impact on frame rate, such as Super Resolution, Global Illumination Quality, and Shadow Quality.
  • Restart your computer and close any software you’re not using. Some screen recording, video, and antivirus software may reduce performance.
  • Update your Windows system.

You can try the following steps until the issue is resolved:

  • Restart your computer and close any unneeded software.
  • Install the latest graphics card drivers. Make sure you execute a clean installation to clear your driver shader cache.
  • Use the verification function on Steam, the Epic Games Store, or WeGame to confirm that the installation package is not damaged. Alternatively, try reinstalling the tool.
  • Update your Windows system, as some older versions may cause compatibility issues.
